Jake teaches courses on Journalism, English Composition, American Literature, Creative Writing, and Spiritual/Religious topics for various colleges and universities (Rollins College, Valencia College, Santa Fe College, and the University of Washington to name a few). However, he also delivers classes and lectures throughout the year at community centers, senior residences, and public libraries. His topics range from Contemplative Practices to the Power of Place to Sacred Gardening to Haiku Poetry to Leaf Printing to World Religions.

Jake has also been a featured guest on a number of regional NPR programs and college radio shows. This provides him with an opportunity to reach tens of thousands of people during his interviews and performances. In addition, he has been a featured speaker at several Earth Day celebrations throughout the United States. His spiritual talks and classes can also be found on the Well Being Network.
