Teacher/Lecturer

Jake teaches courses at colleges and universities which he feels are vital in expanding students’ consciousness and communication skills while also stimulating them to interact more holistically with their environment. These subjects include Environmental Writing, the Poetics of Place, Travel Writing, Creative Nonfiction, Ethical Journalism, Multicultural Literature, and the Contemplative and Mystical Dimensions of World Religions.

In addition to those more formal educational settings, he also offers many scholarly lectures and creative workshops throughout the year at community colleges, alternative media centers, senior residences, and public libraries. Jake has also worked for several educational organizations that serve at-risk urban youth. These diverse engagements allow him to connect with various populations and generations.

Please contact Jake if you would like him to offer a class, lecture, or workshop at your educational or community center.
